How do I cite a table/figure in APA style?

If you didn't create the table or figure that you want to use in your document, someone else owns the copyright to the figure or table. Please see "Copyright Guidelines for Students" for information on whether or not you need to obtain copryight permission to use a table or figure in your document. Authors of theses must obtain copyright permissions to use copyright-protected illustrations; please see "Copyright Information For Thesis Publication" for information.

Please see the figure caption on page 158 of the APA manual for an example of how to provide a copyright permission statement, and see pages 159-160 for information regarding figure captions. The same approach to noting the original source of the material and the copyright permission could be used in a table note; please see page 138 in the APA manual for information regarding table notes. The sources of tables and figures should also be noted in the reference list (Lee, 2016, para. 2).
