It depends if your textbook was entirely written by the same author(s), or if your textbook is an edited collection of chapters/sections by different authors. If the textbook was entirely written by the same author(s), you can use the formatting for a book for the reference. If, however, your textbook is an edited collection of authored chapters or sections, please use the formatting for a chapter in an edited book and cite the specific section or chapter you used. If you're working with a custom textbook, please see "How to Cite Course Packs, Custom Textbooks, and Other Classroom Compendiums" from the APA Style Blog.
