Please check with your instructor or supervisor to determine his or her requirements regarding the author note. If you refer to Title Page Setup, which is a resource from the APA Style Blog, you'll find information on writing author notes under the guidelines for a professional title page. However, that information is directed to authors submitting manuscripts for publication in APA journals, rather than to students completing academic work. In fact, "student papers do not typically include an author note" (American Psychological Association, 2020, p. 35). With that in mind, if your instructor has requested an author note, it's best to confirm with the instructor what information you should provide.
