Lastname, A. (year, Month day). Re: Title of blog post [Blog comment]. Retrieved from URL

The name cited in the reference should be that of the commenter, not of the author of the post. Provide the full date of the comment. Insert "Re:" in front of the title of the blog post, with the text "[Blog comment]" following the title. The URL should be the direct URL to the specific comment, not to the blog post.

For example:

Smith, T. (2010, November 24). Re: How to cite something you found on a website in APA Style [Blog comment]. Retrieved from http://blog.apastyle.org/apastyle/2010/11/how-to-cite-something-you-found-on-a-website-in-apa-style.html#comment-6a01157041f4e3970b0147e021323e970b

  • "Credit the person who left the comment as the author using the format that appears with the comment (i.e., a real name or username)" (American Psychological Association, 2020, p. 320).
