Students can continue to contact the Writing Centre Monday through Saturday for assistance. We are working remotely, which means we are answering emails as well as meeting with students in online synchronous individual appointments. If you're a RRU student and you'd like to send us an email, please use the WriteAnswers contact form to send us a private message. We'll respond privately to you and do our best to reply within our typical turnaround time of one business day.
Please visit Book an Appointment if you would like to schedule a 30-minute appointment to discuss questions relating to a work in progress or a 60-minute appointment to learn more about yourself as a writer by discussing a marked individual work. Students are still required to schedule 60-minute appointments and send the marked individual essay to be discussed at least three business days in advance of the meeting, so please keep that time frame in mind when you're choosing your meeting time. No lead time is required when scheduling a 30-minute appointment.
All appointments will occur in a BlueJeans online meeting room, which will allow us to have private synchronous conversations. You will receive the URL for the meeting room when you schedule the appointment. To help us ensure the privacy of all students, please wait to enter the meeting room until the time your appointment is scheduled to begin. If you want to test your access to the meeting room before the appointment, please do so outside regular office hours (see the Writing Centre's home page for hours of operation), and please leave the meeting room when you're done. During the meetings, our web cams will be off to help maximize bandwith for the meeting, so though you won't see us, we'll be there!
The only service we can't offer right now are drop-in meetings, and we apologize for any inconvenience this causes. Instead, please book a 30-minute appointment through Book an Appointment, and if all appointments are booked so you're unable to schedule time for a meeting, please contact us to let us know so we can find a way to assist you.
