APA 6th Edition

The APA Style (6th ed.) rules ask for at least 2.54 cm or one inch margins on all sides of the page (American Psychological Association, 2010, p. 229). Margins in student essays are typically 2.54 cm or one inch on all sides of the page, so unless you're directed to do otherwise by your instructor or program, please use that formatting in your essays.

APA 7th Edition

Format margins to 2.54 cm or one inch at the top, bottom, and on both sides of the text, unless directed otherwise by your instructor or program head (American Psychological Association, 2020, p. 45). Please refer to Where Can I Find a Sample Paper That Shows Correct APA Style Formatting? to see example papers with 2.54 cm margins.
